Narcissus in Cat Litter?
« on: July 12, 2011, 03:39:09 PM »
There are reports that fritillaries & crocus grow well in cat litter. Has anyone tried narcissus?

Anne - if you wish to experiment, the choice is yours.

Yes - I've tried N wilkomii out of desperation and its performance was even more lamentably feeble than in normal compost.....

I have not tried it with anything more vigorous though.

Incidentally - Muscari mcbeathianum responded really well to it which might be useful for those who struggle with this species.

Not very encouraging Darren. However, I may have a go with a couple of forms which don't thrive in my normal compost mix.
