Can anyone recommend a supplier of deep (at least 150mm or 6" ) aluminium Plunge Staging.

www.twowests.co.uk If their standard deep plunge isn't deep enough give them a call as they will make to bespoke dimensions.

Hello Will, good to see you come out into the open from the Perthshire undergrowth!

Several Forumists have  recommended TwoWests for staging, plunges and frames over the years, so I think you can be confident with them.

Have a look at reply 27 from Giles who recommended some plunges manufactured by Hartley.

Mine was like that for the first few weeks, now I have plants everywhere. Must say that I am really happy with my plunge beds from Two Wests, just wish I had more space that I could have more.

Another choice for you http://www.greenhousesdirect.co.uk/Accessories/Specialist/ Their greenhouses and staging are quite strong.
I have always built my own using pressure treated wood gravel boards for the sides with angle iron legs, but never longer than 4 feet or so, which is when the problems start.

Should have mentioned the wood is lined with heavy polythene or butyl pong liner.

Thanks to all for replies  ;D

I have now ordered a 60" x 24" x 6" plunge from Two Wests & Elliot for ~£50. I would have made my own but on pricing a sheet of aluminium I was quoted £35 so for a little over £15 extra someone else does all the hard work and also provides a guarantee and leaves me more time in my new garden.

Will good choice. I went with Martin recommendations ,he said it was hard on the fingers fixing all the nuts and bolts. But I must say I never had that problem, just left it to hubby to do. Can't deprive a man of using his socket set  ;D

Will, people do different things but I've always drilled some drainage holes in the bottom of the trays and put a sheet of water matting in so I've got good drainage but no sand coming out.

Oh yes, and if you do the assembly job with no gloves on your hands will be black with Aluminium dust!
