Nature Reserve Silberberg near Hagen/Lower Saxony

A few days ago I made a short trip to the Silberberg (Silver mountain). This is a small hill (180 m) where once small amounts of the eponymous precious metal were dug. Nowadays there is limestone xeric grassland with an interesting vegetation. I was too late for flowering orchids but found a few rarities growing
in a nice environment. Please enjoy.

1. + 2. Solidago virgaurea and Calluna vulgaris
3. Calluna vulgaris
4. Scabiosa columbaria
5. Silene vulgaris ssp. humilis
6. Gentianella ciliata

Well ..i enjoy.I also know this area,and was there to see Ophrys apifera .Very interesting!not only for plants but also for butterflies, amphibian's and reptiles as well.

Wim, There were a lot of butterflies indeed and I tried to take pictures of one in order to get an identification from this Forum later - too fast for me.

Armin, no more pictures from the Silberberg unfortunately - the butterfly made me tired.
