Maggi ,

I have seen such a plant growing near a street - the stones was fallen on one site and it was possibly to see the roots  :o :o :o ...like a big old tree !

Thanks Hans.  At first I thought they were looking into a pool of green algaed water.

A lovely thing.

Maggi  - Do you grow it?  Some have that shiny Azorella here that once was a Bolax and whose name seemed to change daily.  They seem to relish coastal wind though its foliage was water-repellent.  I cannot imagine this one would hold up on the occassional steamy summer night let alone in the damp climate of Ushuaia.  I can't find a reference to its occurring in the far south of SA.

Is seed ever available?  It would be interesting to hear of the diverse gardens and their climates in which it is satisfactory.

John , no problem ...it is a pleasure to help you .

You could ask for seeds by Chileflora ....but in my eyes it makes no sense to grow this plants - better to grow snowdrops and Nerines  :D
