G. plicatus Enid Bromley v Maidwell C

I probably asked this last year ... Is anyone, other than me, growing plicatus Enid Bromley and plicatus Maidwell C? How do they compare? Weather permitting I'll take comparison shots later this week.

For me Enid Bromley, growing in full shade, is the better plant always looking smart whether the flowers are open or not. It always has twin scapes.

Maybe Maidwell C, full sun, is struggling in my garden. It only has single scapes.

Northgreen are selling it this year at £40.00 per bulb

But in the catalogue it is spelt "G..elwesii 'Enid Bromly'

John Morley has been listing it in his catalogue as an elwesii, I bought it direct from David Bromley at the 2009 Gala, when he sold it as plain G. 'Enid Bromley' and I understand that Matt Bishop has provisionally classified it as G. plicatus 'Enid Bromley' – no doubt MB will make clear in due course.

There is also a typo in JM's 2012 catalogue, which says 'Enid Bromly' instead of 'Enid Bromley' and I have a note that it may also previously have been circulated as ‘Mrs Enid Bromley’

Sorry Mark, I sent my 'Enid Bromley' off to be twin-scaled in 2009, so have not had a chance to compare it with ‘Maidwell C’ - as Brian hinted earlier in this thread, you might want to compare notes with Margaret Owen - 'Enid Bromley' was discovered in her garden, so she might be able to throw some light on it.
