Looks like Scoliopus bigelowii.

Good to have you posting, John  8)

Trond has hit that nail on the head.  It is Scoliopus bigelowii, a delightful little Western American woodlander.  It should put up a succession of those well-marked flowers and as the foliage develops and ages, the leaves will lose their spots.  Great plant, I love it!

Thanks for the info and positive ID. My Scoliopus bigelowii seems to have been hiding for two years, it was indeed given to me two years ago, and I really thought I had lost it and had forgotten about it completely, we do not see many of these where i am..... Thanks again..... And thanks for the extra info Maggi
