Hello
Who grows well, and how, Primula suffrutescens?
I had some seedlings in spring, pricked them out in a very draining mix of some humus, some good garden soil, and at least a 1/3 of granite debris of all sizes.
The seedlings became installed in their pots during the summer. Installed might be a strong word, at least the primulas did do some new leaves, appreciating seemingly the soil conditions.
They endured a rather wet/fresh Jun/July with only occasional rain protection.
Now, after a drier and a bit warmer august, the leaves are quickly becoming transparent and brownish, as if the plants were preparing to the winter rest.
But when I try to gently pull the decaying leaves, I sometimes also get the stem, which must mean the collar is rotting? Or could it be that the primula completely rests underground during winter, with no aerial parts anymore, despite its quite "woody" habit?
