Hi Emma, also greetings from me ( a little bit late), standing beside you on Hagens pic.
It was nice to meet you and many others in February this year in England.
We spent many happy snowdropdays and hope to see you all next year
again.

The animal playing the instrument is "Willy Wombat".  Uli is a self-proclaimed "lover of bulbs and Wombats".  There is plenty here about bulbs but not so much about wombats so I thought I should try to redress the balance.

Dear Alan,
Willy Wombat is very nice and I love all these things about Wombats.
I love hunting for snowdrops and other bulbous plants, but hunting for
Wombats is much more exeiting. Unfortunately I have to go to Australia
for seeing Wombats. Now the snowdrops are nearer at the moment and
I like to see my G. peshmenii in flower.
To Maggie, Ian and Hagen: thank you all for the warm welcome to the forum.

Uli,  also a warm welcome to the forum and all the best from Mol.
We didn’t recognize you in the picture without your (wombat) hat !!!!!
Let’s hope that we can see some snowdrops together next year. Who knows where ?

In Oz for cricket (don't ask) we visited a wildlife centre and I got a good photo of Eileen holding a koala. She was then offered a wombat to hold but neither Eileen nor the wombat fancied it.

Steve,
the wombat I held (see  my avatar) was only 15 kg, not to heavy for me. Another at the zoo in Duisburg
was 25 kg and it was not possible to hold him

Hagen, I can assure you that at least I understood your musical joke - even if nobody else did !

Hint for the rest: Google on Aaron Copland.
