Seven new crocuses!

I just got  beautiful Christmas present  - 7 new Crocus names from Turkey:

Crocus mersinensis, Crocus taseliensis, Crocus babadagensis, Crocus simavensis, Crocus mysius, Crocus bifloriformis and Crocus adamioides described in common article by H. KERNDORFF, E. PASCHE, D. HARPKE & F. R. BLATTNER in last STAPFIA.

In attached pictures one of those - Crocus adamioides which was collected at this locality. Something differs from original description, but location almost the same, although much lower altitude.
 Correction - on pictures -  actiually alexandrii, true adamioides inserted later.

After more carefull comparing of all data I found that Crocus on previous entry isn't adamioides. Pity. Although from same mountain ridge my plants were collected at much lower altitudes - at foothills, but adamioides comes from mountain tops, although very closely geographically.

But another one was identified without doubt. It is Crocus taseliensis. It was pictured in my crocus book as species nova crewei aff. Here I'm attaching some pictures of this one - both from wild and from my collection. Although my were collected at higher altitudes (1680 m) than given in original paper (1100 m), they undoubtedly are taseliensis.

Indeed a nice christmas surprise, Janis!

Further pieces of the puzzling biflorus group of Turkey. Also learned C. ionopharynx has species status now.
DNA analysis results remain exciting and we are not safe from further great surprises I heard.

What we would need then is somebody to write a new crocus guide book for the crocus lovers
