Juno & reticulate iris
« on: January 22, 2014, 03:36:07 PM »
I am interested in growing the smaller juno & reticulate iris.  Some of the ones that I see on the forum that take my fancy, eg Iris zagrica, iris orange glow, & iris  nicolai, to name a few are not available in the bulb catalogues that I have.  Can anyone please suggest where the more unusual ones may be purchased.
Thanks, Dave.

Dave, if you cannot get I. zagrica from Janis or Jan, try Bob & Rannveig Wallis (Buried Treasure).  They grew it from Jim Archibald seeds.

Kurt Vickery also released some I zagrica, and Norman Stevens was selling it. Leonid Bondarenko also sells a number of small junos and reticulate Iris.

I have been very pleased with Augis Bulbs.   Not as extensive a selection, but excellent bulbs and plants.

I have had two orders from Augis and definitely agree with Arthur, very good plants and generous too.
by the way Arthur; your retics are flowering nicely at the moment. If there are any still out, I shall bring them to the south wales show or the Frit group.

I've never been less than very pleased with anything I've bought from Augis.
