"The Landmark Trust would like to invite the Scottish Rock Garden Club to an evening lecture,
‘In Praise of Pineapples’ at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, Thursday 21 March 7pm, supported by Campbell Lutyens.
Join us for a lively evening inspired by the celebrated Pineapple pavilion at Dunmore, near Stirling, cared for by The Landmark Trust. Johanna Lausen-Higgins of the RBGE will speak on the history of cultivation of this exotic fruit, and Caroline Stanford, Historian of the Landmark Trust will explore the colourful history of John Murray, 4th Earl of Dunmore, last Governor of Virginia, and his pleasingly prickly pavilion.
Tickets are £5 including drinks and are available from The Landmark Trust booking office on 01628 825925.You can find more information on this event on our website
http://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/news-and-events/upcoming-events/In-Praise-of-Pineapples/I would appreciate it if you could circulate this information around the Scottish Rock Garden Club and to anyone who you think may be interested.
The Landmark Trust, a building preservation charity, carefully and sensitively restores buildings and then by making them available for holidays, makes sure they can be enjoyed by all, both today and for future generations."
