Nablonium calyceroides
« on: April 17, 2008, 08:28:18 AM »
From the same nursery that I bought the Ranunculus I also got Nablonium caylcoroides calyceroides. It's another invader. I repotted it last night from peat to nice gritty soil. I cant find it listed on the internet. It's a fleshy Asteraceae from South America

Does anyone know it?

You mean Ammobium calyceroides, which comes from Tasmania??
Invasive plant.

Ammobium (includes Nablonium; Asteraceae)
Tasmania has two species of Ammobium. A. calyceroides (=Nablonium calyceroides) is a native rosette species with spiny inflorescences. It is common along the west coast. The other species (A. alatum) is a largish, erect introduced perennial herb.

I hope I was allowed to copy a picture?

Sadly Luit died on 14th October 2016 - happily we can still enjoy his posts to the Forum
