I have accepted an invitation to attend this three day Festival in a couple of weeks (31st Aug, 1st & 2nd Sept) and will be taking a wide range of hardy orchids for sale including a number of British natives. If members are visiting the show come and have a chat.

The 2013 show will be held on Friday 6 to Sunday 8 September at Camperdown Park, Dundee.

Highlights are the Scottish National Vegetable Championship Festival, the World Jampionship, the World Potato Championship and the World Gladioli Championships. Christine Walkden will also be present conducting demonstrations, giving lectures and signing her latest books. Additionally, a 3 day cookery festival will take place in a dedicated Food Marquee.  As always there will be plenty of trade stands and a range of other activities including modern, traditional and world music stages, and a woodlands/environment arena and special areas for children.

Day tickets £8. Three day tickets £16. Free parking and easy public transport access.

Yemen, what a country ... Haraz mountains, Socotra, Sana'a, Hadramaut, the empty quarter.... a country of stunning, mind altering beauty...and the friendliest of people.
