Saturday we visited the island Hidle with a famous restaurant and garden here in Rogaland, Norway. Although the weather was cloudy it was a nice trip, 1 hour drive and two ferries to get there.
They plant out 50000 annuals among shrubs and trees, paths and small lakes. The tender shrubs and trees (particularly the palms) are brought inside during the winter but most are in the garden all the year, like grapes, figs and an olive tree; and all the conifers, of course. The garden is about 20 years old.
