I don't think it is barbatula unless there is tremendous variation in that species. I think it could be another tuberous species though, possibly the little one whose name has this moment vanished from my mind. It was there just seconds ago. I'm thinking confusa but it's obviously not that and it's only I who am confused. I have a pot of seed somewhere, nothing germinated in nearly 3 years so probably won't. When it returns to me I'll post it here unless someone comes up trumps first. Can't even remember where I sourced the seed. We are day 6 of non-stop rain or I'd otherwise go and look but the label could be unreadable now anyway.
I find no reference to barbatula in Mathew's "The Iris" but under decora he mentions collettii (ah, that's what I was trying to remember) or staintonii. Collettii is stemless or nearly so but with "an extraordinarily long perianth tube, up to 10cm in length" but shorter in small specimens. It is paler according to Mathew, fragrant and has a yellow-orange crest which yours seems to. Staintonii has no crest, a shorter tube and longer flower stems.
My barbatula makes seed from my single clone so I hope your little plant does too Wim. Whatever it is, it is delightful.
