I also believe the botanists have been busy and reclassified it into a new genus?

It grows well (almost naturalised) here in the Western Isles of Scotland!

Alas the South American pampas grass (Cortaderia selloana and C. jubata) are weeds in New Zealand and they should be eradicated. We have Austroderia (Cortaderia) fulvida growing in many places near us in Auckland. http://www.landcareresearch.co.nz/science/plants-animals-fungi/plants/ethnobotany/weaving-plants/information-sheets/toetoe

Slightly fuzzy picture of a Scarlet Tiger caterpillar. I find quite a few of these and a few times I've seen the moth in the garden. I've noticed that at this time of year when the sun shines the caterpillars ascend saplings/ suckers of various trees and bushes - although they don't actually eat them.

Quite a few frogs in a garden I visited yesterday, and ladybirds everywhere.

Hibernating Peacock butterflies waking up at work today, had 4 in the greenhouse/potting shed.
