Does anyone know if primroses can be self/hand pollinated? Must it be thrum x pin eyed or can I do thrum x thrum / pin eyed x pin eyed?

You can do thrum/thrum and pin/pin but I read it's frowned upon in breeding circles as not being natural! (source: Peter Ward, Primroses and Polyanthus Batsford 1997. Natural way is pin for seed parent and thrum for pollen.

When I pulled my plant apart there must have been a second plant. I see today I have pin eyed and thrum eyed
