Dear All who received seeds of this from me in the past, whether directly or via the seedex. Here's the latest determination from Brent Hine at the Lohbrunner Garden at UBC in Vancouver, Canada.

Subject: a new name
Hi John,
..............Nice to see that summer is well and truly on the way for us at both ends. Just back from a month in Japan. Led a 2 week tour of northern Honshu, ‘Spring in the mountains’ was great! I have a new name for the Beschorneria aff. yuccoides I received from you quite a while ago. It’s definitely Hesperaloe parviflora. It explains a lot of its hardiness! It has no less than four beautiful deep red
blooming stems right now!!...........
Cheers!
Brent
aka the red hummingbird yucca as well as the Lady Bird Johnson Yucca. Lady Bird Johnson was a Yucca breeder and the head honcho at the National Arboretum in DC many years ago told me she was getting red into her advanced hybrids, I wonder if this is what she was using?
Stay tuned for the next name change ..............johnw
