A weed?
« on: June 09, 2014, 08:12:12 PM »
This has appeared in my garden. It is creeping (if that's the correct term)and has the smallest of white flowers on 5cm stems.
Hope the photos are good enough to get an ID.

It's a willowherb, Epilobium.  I'm not sure of the specific name but I think it comes from New Zealand.

We think it might be Epilobium komarovianum.

Get rid of it.  Covers pots and all in its path in the blink of an eye!

Hi All,
That's it and listed as an invasive species in the UK.
Eradication will commence tomorrow.

Many thanks

Yes indeed an NZer. Blasted thing. I have it by the square metre in various places including in lawn. Not sure what to do about it there, as Roundup is the only remedy I've found so far. And NEVER let it seed!
