Gladiolus potting mix
« on: June 19, 2014, 12:29:02 PM »
Just curious what do you use for the potting mix for Gladiolus? I have killed several by overwatering since I water every 3 days to keep the mix moist. I pot them in a sand and soil mix with some bark. I think it is too wet.

For most gladiolus I'd be inclined to use a free-draining and relatively inorganic mix Chuck.
The rate of drying depends on conditions (e.g. temperature, relative humidity, air movement, exposure to direct sun) which can fluctuate a lot, so usually it's safer just to check the growing medium periodically then water as needed.
