Hi Everyone,
I have been asked if I can help source a small quantity of seed for Noccacea caerulescens (some of you may know it as Thlaspi caerulescens) "Alpine Pennycress" for a student entering their 3rd year of studies for a B.Sc Horticulture.  They are hoping to carryout an experiment into the use of Alpine pennycress for remediation purposes, starting August / September this year but are experiences problems locating seed.

Can anyone suggest where they can obtain some seeds?
Thank you in advance for you help
Susan

Might have been collected as part of the Rare Plants project by RBGE. I cant get access to the database from home to check germplasm.
I wont be back to the Botanics until next week if it can wait I can check monday.

Hi Susan,

I have got a plant under this name and I have also a few seeds from it. Unfortunately I have never checked its validity but if you want I can send some seeds from it.
If you ask from them send me your address.

Lots of papers are dealing with Noccaea (=Thlaspi) caerulescens and phytoremediation. Maybe could you ask to José Escaré at Montpellier, a scientist who work on ecophysiology of this species : http://www.cefe.cnrs.fr/en/dynamique-et-adaptation-des-populations-vegetales/jose-escarre
On this page, it is said : "Seeds of Noccaea (Thlaspi) caerulescens from Les Avinieres mine ("Ganges ecotype") are available at the following adress: delmot guy [ guy.delmot@wanadoo.fr]"

A big thank you to everyone who has contacted me either on the forum or privately offering seed or suggestions of where seed may be sourced from.  Helena has sourced some seed and will hopefully be starting her experiment soon.

thank you for you help
