Ranunculus calandrinioides - have I killed them?
« on: September 02, 2014, 04:54:09 PM »
Repotting in the green house continues and a thought just came in to my head. Since they went dormant I haven't given my Ranunculus calandrinioides any water. Usually they just stay outside for the summer. This time last year I repotted them and put them in the sand plunge

Have I killed them? Will I give them a good soak now?

I suspect they will be fine, Mark … simply thoroughly wet the compost and they should respond appropriately. Good luck.

hello
Ranunculus calandrinioides cultivate  several years. Do not be too hard dry the rhizomes. Rest goes in a slightly damp surface. Buttercup is at this time must have green leaves. Overwinters in the dry garment. The critical temperature - 15 degrees Celsius. And can someone practiced Ranunculus weberbauerii? It's a beautiful ranunculus. Sorry for the english with google

The roots still look reasonably healthy, Mark … I would expect them to respond well to the watering.

Hi Kot,
R. weberbauerii is one of the mystical, dream plants for Ranunculus addicts … we despair of ever finding seeds and being given the opportunity to grow it.

Mark, attached is an actual photo of my plant, I cultivate it all over the year in a crevice.
It shows traces of mildew, probably due to the unusual rainy weather we suffered last
month. I tried this plant as seedling in the alpine house, but it almost died by mildew.
ZZ recommended me to plant it in the open garden where it gets bigger and bigger
without any protection.
