Hi all ,
in this year I had the big luck that my both forms of Scadoxus puniceus flowering in the same time ...today it was possibly to take some pics
Scadoxus puniceus f. alba ( plant received 2007 ) first time flowering
Scadoxus puniceus ( grown from seeds ex Silverhill - sown 2006 ) first flowering after 8 years

Hi to all,
I got a really nice surprise after eight years waiting - Scadoxus membranaceus is flowering and it was worth waiting!

...and sometime it is the own fault that you have to wait. I think in this case I was a long time toooo carefully and gave not enough water and fertilizer. Also I thougt it is a true "short day plant" but this seems to be a mistake, it also grows in summer when it gets enough water.

Hmm, yes, you are right sometimes we are at fault - but when the flower does come it is so wonderful!
