George Forrest is a very important figure in the SRGC - after all, our premier plant awards, for the "most meritorious plant in the show " is the George Forrest Memorial Medal!
There are , as you might imagine, references to George Forrest, one of the country's greatest planthunters, in the journals of the SRGC.

This film is credited to George Forrest (1873-1932) who was associated with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and collected plants in Yunnan province, SW China. It dates to around 1930 and shows his collectors and entourage and a festival with stilt walkers in a town, possibly Tengyueh/Tengchong.
