Stephen I bought a bag of zeolite and occasionally throw some into a mix if I'm making one for alpines or something precious. It's very hard and won't break down, my guess is it will stay intact longer than you will! I don't know if there's any special benefit for plants, I really haven't done any controlled tests to make comparisons personally.
