Many thanks for posting Philip, looks to have been a good day. I liked your iris babadagica, I bought one at the South West Show on Saturday so I know what to expect next year (if I don't kill it in the meantime)

Ray Drew did a wonderful display of erythroniums and other plants a couple of years ago when I came with Mike Brett - I remember Hepatica 'Millstream Merlin' in particular. Such a lot to be said for local events like these (he says, also thinking that I need to grow more plants to display locally in Kent too to back this up :)). Mann's wholesale Alpine nursery is just across the way from the Rawreth Hall and when we went recently they were more bouyant about the general interest in alpines from Garden Centres and their customers, so that is a good sign even if it seems less easy to encourage more gardeners to the Shows at times.

You can still take a stroll around Mann's on show day. They are garden centre plants but I still bought some nice ones. Our group also hold a plant swap there in the Autumn.

They certainly have, Philip - thanks again!
