The KSP Main Show is from 4.5.2016 - 20.5.2016, Autumn Show from 5.9.2016 - 16.9.2016.
There is also a Meeting in the Mountains in the Moravian Region, usually in October with
a marathon of lectures and a good offer of alpine plants.

I should be in Prague for 4 days during that time, so I will try to come to that show. What a wonderful opportunity to see plants and also of course to meet again some of the lovely people from Tabor in 2013, including you Rudi, and Elke I hope. ;D ;D ;D

I mean of course, the later, autumn show so no saxifrages I'm afraid. :'( :'(

Thank you Maggi, and Rudi, Elke and Petr (are you the Petr who managed all the sound equipment at Tabor?) for such a wonderful group of pictures from this super Show. What I find it hard to remember is that all these plants are shown in outdoor spaces, not in a hall where there is protection from bad weather. From what we saw during the garden tours after Tabor, I know many if not most are grown permanently in the open rather than in alpine houses and it is for this reason I believe that the Czech saxifrages - if only we could access them - would do well in New Zealand as most alpine gardeners here don't use covered places for their plants, only one or two perhaps having an alpine house or even a covered frame. We do use some covering such as shade cloth in summer.

It's really hard to choose a few favourites among those shown here. I love all the pure reds certainly, those such as 'Adrian Young' and the newer, orangey and terracotta colours such as 'Michelangelo, never seen in New Zealand. Then there are the yellows. 'Klet' is such a neat plant and the limey yellow (if my screen is showing it true) is very attractive in 'Raold Amundsen.' (a name from my schoolgirl days when we studied exploration in the Antarctic!) All the perfect cushions are a delight yet I'm attracted to the somewhat wild and woolly look of 'Alpenflora.' It is sad, for us in the southern hemisphere that the only two I recognize and grow are the old 'Faldonside' and S. grisebachii 'Wisley.' Great plants both but with only a very small bunch of old varieties here, they are lonely.

Klub skalničkářů Praha opens it's May show on 4th May - it runs to the 20th May.
Hoping those members travelling to enjoy the show have a wonderful trip and great visit to the Czech Republic.
(Not that there's any doubt about that!  :))
