I had two trays of sown Trillium seed sown two years ago this winter. Four different species which were a bit shallow in hindsight and the blackbirds got into and scratched about and made a mess, so yesterday I decided to turn them both out into a deeper box and add some more compost. When I tipped them out you can guess what I found... tiny bulbs starting to make shoots and roots. I spread them very carefully in the new box and as best I could poked the roots downwards on any I could see.
The question is will upending the whole lot upset the little bulbs? If some have been flipped upside down will they sort themselves out or are they in trouble? What should I do?
