Canongate, St Andrews
Fife KY16 8RT
Thanks to Willie Campbell for these photos
"Another Scottish garden visited this week, some gems to look out for at St. Andrews Botanic gardens. Great to see the work the Trust is putting into the garden, now with a full compliment of Gardeners and off course a great friends group. New plant centre opening with lots of great alpine and shrubs from local nurseries."
Pulsatilla vulgaris
Erythronium ?
Narcissus bulbocodium
Narcissus calcicola
Narcissus rupicola

Erythronium 'White Beauty'
[/quote]
I'm not convinced that this is 'White Beauty'. Looks more like E. oregonum maybe?

Came without a name, Carolyn and I just went with the white/cream pollen and straight filaments - mind you it is missing the red zoning so not White Beauty!
Perhaps
it is E. multiscapideum - or a californicum hybrid. Not E. oregonum though.

Yes, it was the red zoning which I was thinking of. My White Beauty are not out yet and I would be surprised if Fife was further on than us in the balmy SW.

Might be E. Cliftonii, which is a type of multiscadpideum - that's an earlier form - I think St Andrews has a very favoured climate - even for you soft southern folks on the west!
