Visited Arduaine on 11 May on a warm sunny day. As with all garden visits, it is a compromise with what is in flower. Here is a sample.
29 pictures spread over the next lot of posts
Starting with the entrance and immediate plants.

Haven't been there for some years. The last time we were there the threat of closure was hanging over it - hopefully now lifted.

This article reminded me that I had a pile of pictures of West Coast gardens taken in the glorious weather of early May. We visited the Tree Centre at Loch Fyne, Kilmory Gardens at Lochgilphead then on the Arduaine, staying at the Loch Melford hotel overnight, visiting the gardens in the evening and the morning before returning via Crarae and then Benmore.
I had almost forgotten how beautiful the landscape is on the west coast...when the sun shines.
Laziness has prevented me from resizing the pictures so here are a selection....no plant names !
Pictures will have to wait as we have been informed that the power is going off as a mysterious cable fault is affecting our area. It has been off most of the time since 2200 last night.
It came back on at 0730 but did not stay on long enough to boil a kettle so breakfast was taken at M&S locally. It came on again long enough for me to come on line, but not long enough to do anything.
