I found this great note from Gabriela .....
"This is the perfect time to sow peonies and other species who require a warm period for the root growth followed by a cold period(winter) for breaking the shoot dormancy. If sown too late they will need two years for complete germination.
Species peonies are now in stock (maybe more later)

Opened this eager to read something new about peonies Maggi
Well, I should add then that two weeks ago I also sown the peonies seeds I got from last Seedex. A good way to be economic with the space for the winter sowings, they would have stayed there doing nothing anyway.

For those who are not familiar, a method for winter 'sowing' consist in with placing the seeds in Ziploc bags with moist medium, keep at warm until the root emerge (about 2 months) and then place them in the fridge; by spring they are ready for potting before the shoots growth. It works but I find it too much trouble (need to check them often, especially when in the fridge).
