Hans, i think your garden Watsonia is a Chasmanthe (Antholiza) aethiopica, or other close species of it. It's invasive here, but i love it anyway!

I have only found a similar plant in my Phillips & Rix book -my first idea as I saw this plants was Crocosmia ...but after near  - it was big bushes ...

Maggi - this is typical for this kind of restaurants ....if the people see it so they know there is fresh octopus from last night .
They eat it grilled or cooked ( so called : Octopus Stifado ) mhhhhhhh

In such "Meze" restaurants you can eat only starters - and they drink Ouzo ( or Raki ) to this starters .
The greek people never drink Ouzo without eating ....very clever !
