Very pretty, Wim! I'd love to see some more pics when they are all fully open! It seems like you are having good weather there.  :)

The yellow Eranthis hiemalis flowers are very frosthard, this flowers survived nightfrosts from -11°C without dammage!

Yesterday Avon Bulbs were selling an early-flowering cultivar of Eranthis hiemalis that was supposed to flower "soon after Xmas".  But mine always do that, at least the first of them in one particular spot do.  And I think I can see others hereabouts starting to flower at much the same time.  So when is genuinely early?

a winteraconite with red like leaves round the flower:

Harald-Alex, may be they are E. cilicica??

My winter aconites are also early this year, but I can never see buds before Christmas.

Some are just showing through nice old mulch:

Others are in nice buds:

I had difficulties in the very beginning to start winter aconites. I bought dried tubers a few times and despite soaking - no result, even one plant. Later I bought dormant, but fresh tubers from Shipton Bulbs and all grew well. Now I have multiple seedlings, also in the lawn. They are clearly at home here.
