Pudsey Pig Event - this year at Chesterfield
« on: April 08, 2018, 08:57:04 PM »
Cliff Booker writes :
Saturday 7th April 2018 was notable for the excellent AGS Show at Chesterfield where the Farrer Medal was won by Frank and Barbara Hoyle with their superb Pulsatilla vernalis and for the wonderful SRGC Show at Edinburgh where the Forrest Medal was awarded to a beautiful Trillium shown by the grand master Cyril Lafong - but mostly it was remarkable for the STUPENDOUS PUDSEY PIG COMPETITION held at the Woodside Public House in Chesterfield which was won by the godfather of gastronomy, Peter Farkasch with his huge bowl of linguine and garlic bread. What a triumph and achieved against such a celebrated field of Previous Piggies. Images show the entire field and the prize giving.
Hearty congratulations to the Hog of the year.

Magnificent to see such a fine array of Pudsey Piglets old and new!
I bet Paddy Parmee and Ben were not expecting to experience THAT! Great way to celebrate Paddy's birthday though!

Congratulations to Peter Farkasch - trencherman of the year!

Do I detect that a certain member present who is usually seen in both jacket and tie was not so clothed? Sadly I must lay blame on the hands of the Earl of Whitworth whose management probably led to such lack of proper standards.
