Primula sp.

I was sent a photo. of a primula found on a local site. It looks like P .farinosa or P. frondosa. The leaves are fairly wide and do not have farina. It should not be in our area as it is not a limestone area. It may be a garden throw-out. Any ideas?

Not easy to appreciate details on the screen, but could it have been a weak or first time flowering Primula auriculata?

I have long been looking for the correct name for a primula I have. So your identification seems to have helped. Can it be P. Auriculata?

In my opinion this isn't Primula auriculata on your picture.
I may say some silly things now, but it rather looks like an opening cultivar of Primula denticulata ( or a hybrid of something with P.denticulata). If the plant forms nice rounded heads of flowers later, then it probably is P.denticulata.

The Primula did not extend its flowering spike. It must be a garden throw-out as it was well away from habitation.
