Let Glasgow Flourish will run from April 20 to 30 with displays of memorabilia from the Garden Festival, as well as a look back at highlights such as Oor Wullie’s Garden and the Mctaggart and Mickel Broom Milk Bar.
It will also consider how the festival changed Glasgow’s attitude to greenspaces and look at how environmental issues could influence city design in the next 30 years.
Hard to believe it's been 30 years since the Glasgow Garden Festival - SRGc held a super show there and it was all a huge success - in spite of weather being so good (hot) that our car-load of plant forthe show nearly collapsed in the heat - had to run back and forth from our hotel room to the car-park to re-hydrate the poor things before we could get them staged. Remember winning rather a lot, nonetheless! It was great fun- masses of plant displays and other things happening - our other memories of the Festival are musical - meeting the fantastic Trio Bulgarka and Fairport Attraction!
