Plants of Scotland - talk - Edinburgh

Apologies for late notification but interesting talk in Edinburgh this week.

At 7.30pm on Thursday 20 September at Augustine United Church, 41, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh,  EH1 1EL, Colin Wren, NTS, Garden and Designed Landscapes Manager (Edinburgh & East) will be speaking on  

“Plants of Scotland”

Colin trained at the RHS, Wisley, and the RBGE. He also worked as Gardens Manager at Edinburgh Zoo and as Nursery Manager at Binny Plants, Uphall.  

£3 donation at the door. Everyone welcome
The talk is organised by the NTS.

I wonder if the talk is about plants that are grown in Scottish gardens or plants that are wild in Scotland?

This  "Botanics Story" tells of an expedition to Easter Ross to rescue the rare Oxytropis halleri.....

Thanks Maggi, I,ve seen it on the North coast but not Easter Ross. Looking at the article by Natacha I would have thought climbing gear would have been used in such steep localities. It is good that our rare plants are being conserved. Perhaps this is part of the Project 8 Scheme.
