Paeonia cambessedesii does not seem to live very long: around 7 or 8 years on average: mine is in its 8th year, and it has fewer stems than last year.
is it true ?

Mine is 16 years old and no problem until now. It doesn't like clay a lot compared to most Paeonia. Granit blocs + grit + compost (like in Mallorca). When i was teenager i planted one in the parent's garden, it's still alive after 31 years.

that reassures me!
so it has one less stem than last year because it probably did a lot of seeds. I might not let all the fruit grow anymore.
yours also starts in January (currently 10 cm shoots) and finishes its long cycle in October?
I placed it against the house in black shale. It is a bit poor, it is not yet very wide. I would like to see a photo of your P. cambesssedesii of 16 years old!
