Themidaceae 2020
« on: November 02, 2020, 08:06:48 AM »
There have been a few triteleia and Brodiaea already but today I found some seedling Dichelostemma volubile in flower. These were from seed sent by Robert and sown in 2017. The first ones flowered last year but these were small bulbs planted out this year and the surprise was to find an albino form!
Thanks again, Robert!
cheers

Triteleia hyacinthina - a pale purple form raised from seed by someone at FCHS but not under that name. We also have a white form which flowers a bit later

Triteleia laxa is apparently quite variable.
A few years ago Lambley Nursery had a selection available which I suspect were raised in Holland for cut-flowers.
Here are a few that we still grow:
1) Triteleia 'Silver Queen'
2) Triteleia 'Rudy Klein'
3) Triteleia 'For You' 'Allure'
4) Triteleia 'For You'
5) Triteleia 'Royal Blue' - seems a weaker grower than the others

Brodiaea elegans - grown from wild collected seed (but presumed to be Triteleia laxa)
