I've just seen a post on Facebook from Barnhaven Primroses telling that " France has started cancelling the first plant fairs of the season. This is an appeal to all of you to continue to support the small nurseries like us who depend on such events for a large part of our income. So please, make the effort to go to your local nurseries, buy plants online and help see us through these next few difficult months."
The story, in a French magazine, is here:

I hope we will all do whatever we can to support the specialist nurseries which are so vital to our hobby and interests.

Melbourne's International Flower & Garden Show has been cancelled which is very disappointing, especially for some of our friends who derive a large part of their annual income from plant sales at this one event
One of our members has been on Instagram urging his followers to support these sellers through their on-line sites and I whole-heartedly agree.
We have only begun to buy!!!
cheers

A couple of nurseries expected to attend the Kendal Show today pulled out from the event - this will be happening everywhere in the next while.
Whether or not nurseries decide to withdraw from any events, or the events themselves are cancelled, please bear in mind that these specialist nurseries do not have an easy time of business at the best of times, and many will lose substantial percentages of their income because of this situation, as I have just been reading about on Facebook from Tonkin's Nursery in Australia. Without these nurseries we would also lose out in a major fashion as hobby growers - saving the nurseries is definitely in our own interest!
Be kind - use mail order where you can!
Handy list ..... ....
