Erigeron sp.
« on: June 12, 2020, 07:56:13 PM »
I am not sure it will be possible to identify this erigeron. It is growing in a scree; the butterflies and bees love it.  It is much larger than most of the erigerons I grow.  Any help with identification is appreciated.
Thanks!

Erigeron speciosus maybe? Also looks like E. glauca x Wayne Roderick. Very pretty!

Thanks!  I'll compare flowers and foliage with postings on CalPhoto, now that I have a hint.

I don't think it's Erigeron 'Wayne Roderick' because I have it and the leaves don't look right.

Whatever it is it's a good doer.

Yes, it does very well, with enough flowers to share with the rabbits that are a plague this year.

And yes, Jan, it is definitely not E. speciosus.  More closeups.

Not an E. speciosus or not an E. glaucus?  Seeing the additional pictures, I agree with Jan, the leaves don’t look like the E. glaucus Wayne Roderick.  So I would say speciosus, but curious to learn what you find out.
