Erythronium ‘Pagoda’

 An Erythronium, "thuggy" ???!!!  Wash your  mouth out,  Anton Edwards - you  are  lucky  to have  'Pagoda' dong so well for  you!! Wonderful that you are  able  to offer  the  chance to others to grow  this  lovely  flower!

She who must be obeyed has spoken - but still no takers - 68 views and still nobody has offered to rescue these from the compost heap! They are wonderful cuddly muggers and will delight you for decades to come.

I have taken Anton up on his offer, and stuck them in my woodland area. 

Good luck to them in trying to be thuggish in competing with the silver birch and goat willow!

A wonderful  parcel of bulbs  on our doorstep this morning when we returned from our morning walk.
Thrilled with them. When it stops chucking it down I will get out there and plant them. Getting too old to work in the rain.

Strange as it may sound, the rain is fairly welcome here. The soil is like concrete and as dry as anything. Planting anything in this garden involves, spade, fork, 6 foot long wrecking bar, Fertiliser, well rotted manure, a bucket for the rocks and loppers to cut the tree roots. It is not something to be undertaken lightly.

I also took Anton up on his offer of some 'Pagoda' and he sent a generous boxful which I added to some bulbs for a community planting in the village. Now flowering in grass under a silver birch, where I hope they will gladden the hearts of people walking by;

Been meaning to post myself, thanks Gail for the reminder. The Pagoda are all flowering beautifully. Really pleased. Thanks Anton. Will take a picture sometime.
