I start the month of April...
The wild daffodils were planted autuum 2017. The blossom is increasing year over year. The gras between the flowers are all seedlings
A nice cultivar is Monal. It suffered a bit in front of the concrete wall on last weeks heat wave of 25°C. Today we had snow fall at -1°C...what a contrast.

Years ago, I did crosses of different daffodils. Today this bloomed.
I don't know enough about them to know if this is something unique or different?

The flower on this is no more than 1 cm across. So the question is, is this just a hungry plant or is there a form as tiny as this? And if so what is it?

Volunteer in our front yard from the beginning of April, hence posted here.
Do you think it looks interesting enough to keep?

Patch of Daffodils Spring 2021, grown from seed. I should have kept collecting seeds over the years, would have thousands now.
I was going to dig them up and plant between my hedge of Tree Peonies, but didn't have time this year.

Do your daffs need to be hand pollinated to set seed?

Jeff, I haven’t done any crosses in years. These small Daffodils do set lots of seeds on their own. I think mice, chipmunks must eat the seeds if not collected. I don’t see seedlings other then where I had originally planted seeds years ago.

I remember reading someplace about Daffodils and Honey bees. Seems they don't care for tall Daffodils pollen, or maybe it's newer hybrids? I don't know much about them, will look come Spring to see if Honey bees are on the mini Daffodils.

https://www.honeybeesuite.com/who-pollinates-the-daffodils/
Found this site with a plausible explanation why modern daffs have no attraction for honey bees. Plant breeders look to produce flowers that satisfy a human need only. I am guilty of this with my hellebore breeding but at least the bees still find the l pollen attractive, in fact the bees often beat me to the pollen shed which can be frustrating but never the less feeds a need.
