One of the Tulbaghias has self seeded in the cracks in my paving. Is this called society garlic because it does not taint your breath and offend people, or for some other reason?

Interesting.
There are some flowering here and to me they have a smell rather than scent. Reasonably strong, and not at all unpleasant - the olfactory sensation reminds me slightly of hyacinth.

A lovely (I think)  hybrid of Tulbaghia montana x simmlerii. I’ve never tested for hardyness
