John Blanchard VMH

I just heard of the death of John Blanchard, who will be known to most daffodil enthusiasts as the author of the field guide to Narcissus. He was also instrumental in bringing back the popularity of miniature daffodils in the UK. Cultivars bred by him include Crevette, Pequenita and Sabrosa. He will be sadly missed by many friends and colleagues, as well as his family. My condolences to all.

Sorry to hear yet more sad news. We are losing an awful lot of good plantspeople recently.
