Sorry for swearing.
For the last year or so we have been hearing of the spread of Sudden Oak Death, Phytophthora and the impact it is having, and can have, on Rhododendrons etc. The RBG have a new alert in the latest journal and I see that disinfectant baths are now in place at all the RBG gardens.
I have read many articles about Sudden Oak Death and I have no doubt of its potential consequences. But, in all the articles I have read I have not seen anything that tells me how to identify this problem. I can kill rhodos just as easily as any other plant but how would I know if it was my mismanagement of the plant or sudden Oak Death that was responsible.
Can anyone give a basic description of what to look for in a sickly plant to identify this disease?
