SRGC Membership - new option for online subscription
« on: August 01, 2013, 07:22:56 PM »
SRGC Membership - new  options !

SRGC subscriptions are due to be renewed in October  (unless you have a multi-year option already).

Update to rates 2018
A new option is now available  - an "online electronic" subscription which is offered at £11 per year (12months from date of sign-up) or £33 for 36months (from date of sign-up).
Secure online payment is by credit card or debit card via SagePay

"Online, electronic" membership is for those who prefer to download the Journals in electronic form and NOT receive any printed matter.

Online electronic "E-sub." members have the same access to the Seed Exchange as "postal" subscribers. Those e-members in GB/UK, or who may wish to attend SRGC Events, may apply for an SRGC Membership Card to print out. "E-sub." subscriptions are only available for individuals.

The new online subscriptions pages are here:  http://www.srgc.net/membership/

SRGC Electronic Membership  News

The SRGC Web Team has been working to improve the system for registration and renewal of the electronic subscription to the SRGC – which is for those who wish to access the Journals etc online only, with no postal communication from the club.

For those with current e-subscriptions you may log in on the new online subscriptions pages using your registered email address and current password to access the Members’ section and Journals.

For those whose subscriptions have very recently expired - you too may log in on the new online subscriptions pages  using your registered email address and current password to renew your membership.

Those people wishing to join the SRGC with an electronic-only subscription please complete a new registration on the new online subscriptions pages.

The new online subscriptions pages are here:  http://www.srgc.net/membership/

Access  to join as an "E-sub." Member is from the drop-down menu under "About Us" at the top of the SRGC main page, where Electronic members will  also find the link to their special Section "SRGC Online Subscription Pages"

"Online Rate" £10 per annum - only available online.

3-year options are available for both postal and online versions of subscriptions.

Online electronic members will not receive Journals etc by post, they will access everything online.  They will be eligible for the Seed Exchange.

Of course, there is still the option of "Postal" membership, which is for those who wish to receive the printed version of our twice yearly journal and SRGC communications by post.

To Join the SRGC or Renew your membership to receive Journals by post, click this link which gives various payment options, by Cheque, Visa or Mastercard Credit  or Debit Cards or by  Paypal - for this option you  can use credit or debit cards  and do not need a Paypal account.

For those who are not members of the Club but who enjoy the Forum and using the facilities of the SRGC site, such as the Bulb Log, IRG etc we hope that this new subscription option will be a way to support the work of the Club as well as access the super Journal and Seed Exchange.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Club or to receiving your continued support!

A reminder : join or renew your existing membership to receive the Journals by post  here : http://www.srgc.net/site/index.php/extensions/join-renew

SRGC Membership - Online Membership and the Seed Exchange
« Reply #1 on: September 05, 2013, 07:15:11 PM »
Electronic Membership and the Seed Exchange

"Online electronic" members (E-members) will be eligible to take part in the SRGC annual Seed Exchange. However,  for online members to be able to access the seed exchange we require your full name and postal address in your online registration at www.srgc.net
If a postal address is not provided at registration/payment for online subscription you will not be able to access the seed exchange.
The E-members' database is entirely separate from the postal members' list and so all details must be provided, even for those members converting from  postal to online.

This is not only needed for access to the seed exchange but also in order for the Club to be able to register your membership region/country for our charity tax purposes.

There is no option for "family" memberships in the E- membership option.  Thus those "Family"  postal members wishing to convert to "online"  who wish to have double access to the seed exchange  will  each need to register etc. using separate email addresses.

Some new online members seem to have missed this message :
Electronic Membership and the Seed Exchange - Important information

"Online electronic" members (E-members) will be eligible to take part in the SRGC annual Seed Exchange.
The E-members' database is entirely separate from the postal members' list and so all details must be provided, even for those members converting from  postal to online.

It would be appreciated if you included a message with your payment stating UK or Overseas. 8)
If you have already joined but not given these details, please return to the site, access your profile and add your address.

We hope that the benefits of  a "E"  subscription to the SRGC are understood by all, regardless of where you are based.
Here, however, are some notes particularly addressed to members and potential members, overseas - that is to say, outside the UK.

All will be aware, I am sure, of the increasing postage costs around the
world which now take the price of printing and posting the journal to the
stage of straining the membership costs.

Rising costs associated with posting the journals meant that, the other year, the SRGC had to separate out the charge for  overseas members' seed from their subscription payment , because it was no longer feasible to fund that through their subscription. Clearly the club cannot lose money in such a way.

We are mindful that some members may find the increased cost of ordering seed to be a burden.

We understand  that overseas members are not able to attend the shows and other functions in the  UK but access to all the resources and community of our forum and website is
available to all, no matter where you live, which many regard as  a very great advantage to membership.

We are immensely grateful for all support of the Seed Exchange. Of course the possibility to get seed from the exchange is especially important for  those members in Australia and New Zealand where plant imports are so restricted.

If you find the cost of "postal" subscription to the Club to be a financial burden but would wish to continue your support of the Club, to enable the Seed Exchange and all the other facilities we provide to continue, then may I make a suggestion?

It is possible to have an "electronic" subscription to the Scottish Rock Garden Club.  For only £10 per year you can have access to the journals online - to download them and read at leisure and also have exactly the same access to the seed exchange as a "postal" member.

For members in the likes of Australia, our online seed ordering service is very popular because of the ease with which the system prepares all the necessary lists for the AQIS /DAFF requirements, not to mention taking away the uncertainties of the postal service for delivery of requests.

To take out an "E" sub. you would register from the "register" button near the top right of the main SRGC web page  www.srgc.net  and then, when you activate that registration and log in - you will be offered the chance to choose either a one year or three year subscription to the club.

Thereafter when logging in to the main site  you will have access to the latest journals and you will also have access to the seed exchange ordering system online without the need for further registration etc.

Please do give the possibility of switching to an "electronic" subscription some consideration.  The total cost, even with seed costs, is much less than the postal version where journals are posted to you.

We hope you will give this suggestion some thought.

SRGC Electronic Membership - NEWS!!!!

The new online subscriptions pages are here:
http://www.srgc.net/membership/

Access  to join as an "E-sub." Member is from the drop-down menu under "About Us" at the top of the SRGC main page, under "SRGC Online Subscription Pages" where Electronic members will also find the log in to their special Section.

"Online Rate" £11 per annum - only available online and for individuals.   Rates updated August 2017

3-year options are available for both postal and online versions of subscriptions.
N.B. This  e-subscription process requires a new registration from the main page - any Forum registration you have is not linked to the main site.  You will be asked for your full name and email address to begin then you will enter your postal address (without that you will not be able to access the seed exchange) - after you have clicked to register, an activation link will be sent to the email address you entered. Note that you must activate the account by clicking on the activation link when you get the email before you can log in.

Online electronic members will not receive Journals etc by post, they will access everything online.  They will be eligible for the Seed Exchange and can ask for an SRGC card to print out for  free access to SRGC shows.
