Unknown Chinese alpine
« on: June 08, 2008, 06:09:36 PM »
This one sprouted among some seedlings of "Meconopsis sp. ex Shaluli Shan, Sichuan, 4200m". It's not anything I've seen before in the wild or the garden, thus presumably Chinese, but what?

Could it be Oxygraphis glacialis?

Better move it out of the "woodland" then, looks like it prefers far wetter conditions...

It might be Oxygraphis glacialis yes, but my plant don't have those purple veins on the underside of the leaves. I was outside to check right now.

It just produced a yellow flower which promptly wilted in the heat, so it probably is an Oxygraphis of some sort.
