Wild Peony's in pots in winter???
« on: September 21, 2008, 09:55:56 AM »
Hi All,

Last year i acquired a bunch of wild Peaony's . i keep them in pots and they thrived well. Now the leafs have withered I want to get them through the winter properly. They will be staying in pots at least until next year.

Ik keep them moist, not wet outside and will shelter them from excessive low temperatures. Buds look healthy.

Should I apply any fertilizer, of should i cover them with a layer of compost/leaf-mould? Would it be wize to free the buds from soil and put some grit around them to avoid fungi? Applying water with some (biological fungicide is wise?)

Thanks in advance,
Hans
