Pimelea seed
« on: August 09, 2009, 05:31:52 PM »
I've got some fresh Pimelea tomentosa seed, if anybody would like it.
It's best sown now, before it goes into deep dormancy.
I posted this picture of it when it was flowering - a silvery leaved small shrub with white daphne-like flowers.

Hi Giles
I am interested if it is hardy.  How large does it grow and are those delicious flowers scented?

Tony,
-hardy if adequate winter drainage; 6-9 inches height 'tops' after 5 yrs; no fragrance. Pimeleas don't seem to do that 'die overnight' thing that Daphnes do, and never cause me any anxiety - they're pest and disease free too.
If of interest, please send me your address.
Giles
